Description
This is a very interesting wristwatch! In April of 1958, Mr. Srurl El Sabban who was the Minister of Finance for Saudi Arabia, attended the Foire de Bale where he ordered 50 of these watches from Universal Geneve. Universal Geneve used their most advanced movement in these watches, the automatic winding Caliber 138, and this watch and its components received three patents.
Case is solid 18k rose gold and measures 36mm diameter by 10.5mm thick. The case features domed acrylic crystal, massive screw-down case back, signed 18k rose gold crown and straight lugs.
Original rose gold dial features the engraved likeness of King Faysal. Center area of the dial is brush finished, while the flange of the dial is mirror polished with engraved hour markers. Original rose gold dauphine hands. Just a stunning and beautiful dial and hands!
Automatic winding Universal Geneve Caliber 138 with 17 jewels, self-compensating balance spring and bumper automatic winding system.
Strap is new generic crocodile.
Condition is mint+ and I believe this watch has never been polished.
