Description
Here is an earliest example of a Daytona, a transitional 6238>6239 from early in 1963, with serial number 923XXX. Original untouched dial milky white with tropical subdials and double ‘SWISS’ along with Mark One double-hash bezel.
Original stainless steel case is 37mm diameter with Mark 1 double-hash bezel and the round case contour where the crown is located (versus the later cases that have a protuberance in the shape where the crown is). Plastic crystal. Original screw down crown and pump style chrono pushers work perfectly. Case back has ‘6238’.
Original untouched milky white double-SWISS dial. Applied hour markers and sunken, contrasting color brown “tropical” subdials and all original hands.
Original manual winding Rolex Caliber 72B with 17 jewels and column wheel construction. Movement is pristine and running.
Rolex riveted Oyster with folding clasp.
Watch is mint and very collectable.
