Description
Here is a particularly mint, original and attractive vintage Rolex chronograph at an affordable price. The blue telemeter scale adds just the right amount of color to the watch to make it outstanding.
Original two-part stainless steel case, hence its moniker "Monoblocco". The reference 4500 Rolex chronograph was made in the mid-1940s and this watch with serial number 427XXX dates to 1945. Smooth bezel, original signed winding crown and round pump-style chronograph pushers all working perfectly. Plastic crystal. The bezel and case body are one part and the case back screws down onto the watch. Inside case back has '4500' stamped inside. This case is mint to mint+ and has not been polished many times in its life like so many of these watches have.
Original dial is matte silver and so light as to look white. Applied arabic numerals and hour markers, sunken subdials, original and mint condition hands throughout, tachymeter and telemeter scales with the latter in blue. Dial is signed ROLEX OYSTER CHRONOGRAPH ANTI-MAGNETIC and is in mint condition.
Original manual winding Rolex Caliber 13''' with 17 jewels and column wheel chronograph construction. Movement is pristine and running.
Strap is rustic brown leather with steel Rolex buckle.
