Description
This is one of the awesome watches that was worth waiting for. Original never-polished 1675 GMT Master with double papers and the desirable “Root Beer” configuration in steel and gold. This watch is a true beauty and quite a rarity – a collector’s dream!
Original gold and steel case which appears to never have been subject to the polishing wheel (and consequent erosion of the case metal). Fat lugs and sharp edges! Solid gold bezel turns as it should with clean brown and gold insert. Plastic crystal. Screw down crown is working perfectly. Case is 39mm diameter by 12.4mm thick.
Serial number 2533XXX dates production to 1970 and inside case back date code is II.70 which confirms this. The watch was sold at retail in January of 1973.
Original brown dial with gold pyramid markers – the so called nipple dial – in perfect condition. Original golden hands. Date at 3 o’clock. The color combination of the brown dial surrounded by the brown and gold bezel insert is fantastic.
Rolex automatic winding Caliber 1575 with 26 jewels and adjusted to temperature and in 5 positions. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is clean and running.
Bracelet is Rolex Jubilee in 18k and steel with light to moderate stretch.
This watch is complete with Rolex box and double punched papers.
