Description
Andy Warhol was a watch collector, which not a lot of non-watch people know. We are very proud to offer Mr. Warhol’s treasured Patek Philippe 2526 with white enamel dial with rare Breguet numerals.

The Patek Philippe reference 2526 is a very important wristwatch. Not only does it have an enamel dial, it also contains Patek's first automatic winding movement. The 2526 was introduced to the public in 1953 and production was limited to only 480 watches in yellow gold. The 2526 is also significant because Patek took the occasion of their first automatic winding caliber to also introduce a massive, domed screw on caseback. This watch is from 1956 and will delivered with provenance.

Production of the 2526 was low to begin with, and these Breguet dials are exceedingly rare. The original untouched and, importantly with no cracks, enamel dial is cream colored with applied golden Breguet numerals and gold baton hands and subsidiary seconds. The minutes chapter is comprised of embossed gold dots. This dial is 100% original and in perfect condition.

Case is solid 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 35mm diameter by 12mm thick. Bombe acrylic crystal. Once again, the case has a screw down back which is designed to prevent water, humidity and dirt intrusion. Case is in mint condition.

Movement is the Patek Philippe automatic winding Caliber 12 - 600 with 30 jewels, Gyromax balance, adjusted to heat/cold and 5 positions, free-sprung Breguet balance and stamped with the Geneva Seal. The 18k gold winding rotor is signed with ‘PP 18K’ and ‘PATEK PHILIPPE GENEVE’ and is decorated with barleycorn guilloche. This is Patek Philippe’s first commercially offered automatic winding movement.

Strap is brown crocodile with 18k gold Patek buckle.
