Description
The Rolex Day Date reference 1803 is just a gorgeous watch. If an oil geyser erupted from my backyard tomorrow, I would set off to buy all of the 1803s remaining in the world. This one has an unusual grey dial, which plays off the gold case magnificently.
Original case is solid 18k gold with dimensions of 36mm diameter by 12.4mm thick. Crystal is plastic. Screw down 18k crown operates perfectly. The fluted bezel, along with the rest of the case, is clean.
Original, untouched grey dial on this watch is a special treat. Applied gold hour markers, with original golden hands and pie-pan edge.
Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1556 with 26 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. The movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is clean and running.
Bracelet is the original, full-length, 1970 Rolex President, clean like the rest of the watch and with light only stretch.
