Description
Talk about cutting edge design. This limited edition Royal Oak Offshore Survivor chronograph is reminiscent of the legendary T3 chronograph, but the case is way more advanced and interesting. Look at the holes that go all the way through the case near 11 o’clock and 7 o’clock. The crown is like a turret – round with arches all around it. Feast your eyes on the chronograph pusher protectors and how the surface of the case directly across is grooved, so when the wearer grabs the watch to use the chronograph, their thumb gets a good grip on the watch. This might be the nicest Offshore chronograph yet!
The Royal Oak case is a legend, and I have to give kudos to A.P. for doing something new with it. This black titanium case is a design and functional masterpiece. Dimensions are 44mm across by 15.5mm thick. Sapphire crystal. Octagonal bezel is grooved. Case back has a grey ring on it that says ROYAL OAK OFFSHORE SURVIVOR LIMITED EDITION. This watch is number 3XX/1000. Water resistant to 100 meters.
Black dial with traditional Clous de Paris decoration in the center, but that is the only aspect of this dial that is traditional. The hands are way cool! Tachymetre scale around edge of dial. Constant seconds subdial is white with red-tipped hand. Chronograph 30 minute totalizer and 12 hour totalizer dials. Date at 3 o’clock.
Movement is the automatic winding Audemars Piguet Caliber 3126 with 59 jewels and 55 hour power reserve. Winding rotor is 22k gold and is hand decorated and engraved. AP has made numerous structural adaptations for this movement to ensure extra stability and ruggedness. You have to admire them for making such a kick-ass watch, when they could have merely made the watch look bad-ass. Instead, they made it bad-ass.
Rubbber strap with over-sized black buckle.
This is a really nice watch and is complete with box and papers.
