Description
The Calatrava reference 6000 is a 2005 Basel release. The first years of production had an all black dial. This new grey dial with contrasting silver elements is much nicer looking. The 6000 is a sporty Calatrava, which, until the reference 6000, was a counter-intuitive concept. The red-tipped date hand is a fun complication. The off center subsidiary seconds dial is also an interesting departure from the normally very classical Calatrava style.
Automatic Patek Philippe Caliber 240 PS beats inside at 21,600 bps, and carries 27 jewels and provides a power reserve of 48 hours. Micro-rotor construction and Geneva Seal certification.
Case is 18k white gold, at 37mm diameter by 9mm thick. Solid white gold crown, date corrector button at the 10 o'clock position on the case side, screw-on back with display crystal. Slightly domed sapphire crystal. Water resistant to 25 meters.
Anthracite (grey) dial is really nice looking. Printed white inner minutes chapter, silver subsidiary seconds chapter, along with arabic numerals displaying the hours, and an outer date register. The white hands are set off very nicely from the dial, offering good legibility.
White gold deployant clasp is on the Patek crocodile strap.
As all Pateks are, this one is a keeper. Watch is indiscernible from new and will be delivered with box and papers.
