Description
This is a rare watch and very cool in subtle ways. For example, check out the end of the lugs: they are squared off at the end, in contrast to all other Rolex case lugs, which curve continuously downward to the bottom of the lug. Also, the hour markers on this original untouched dial are the so-called Concorde markers, which are exceedingly rare.
Original stainless steel case is mint+. Ridiculously clean, in fact. Smooth bezel and screw-down crown and plastic crystal. Serial number 175XXX dates watch to 1956 and inside case back has date code of II.56 along with ‘6518’. Case dimensions are 34mm diameter by 12.9mm thick.
Original untouched silver dial with applied Concorde style markers, applied ROLEX and original dauphine hands. Original blued center seconds hand. Dial does have some aging, which is consistent with anything that is 58 years old, which in no way detracts from its beauty. Date display at 3 o’clock.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1030 with 17 jewels. Movement is clean and running.
Bracelet is Rolex stretch Oyster, like the watch case in mint+ condition and with date code of 1-63.
This rare watch is made much more rare because it is accompanied by Rolex box and original Rolex papers showing original retail sales date of December 19, 1957.
