Description
Here is an exciting find that we got in just today. An early transitional 6265 Cosmograph Daytona in 18k with extremely crisp unpolished case, first series chrono pushers and untouched RARE non-chronometer champagne dial.
Original 18k case has original screw down crown and first series chronograph pushers, bezel with uncompromised sharp edge, full lugs and plastic crystal. Take a look between the crown and chrono pushers: undeniable proof that this watch case is untouched! Size is 38mm by 12mm thick. Serial number 2939XXX dates watch to 1970. Case back is engraved ‘6264’ which shows that this pre-Chronometer early 6265 is still in the transitional stages from its predecessor model, the 6264.
Original untouched champagne dial without the busy looking chronometer text below the center pinion. This is a rare dial and was only used on the first 6265s. Dial and original hands in perfect condition.
Original manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel construction. Movement is clean and running.
Watch will be delivered on new premium quality leather strap.
