Ah, the Rolex Day Date. I bought myself one on my 40th birthday. Everyone calls it The President, which is only partly correct. It’s actually this style of bracelet that Rolex names “President” bracelet, while the watch is the Day Date. Whatever you decide to call it, it’s a beautiful and classic watch and the full day display paired with the date is surprisingly useful.
The Day Date is water resistant to 100 meters thanks to its Oyster case. The crown screws down and the crystal is sapphire, making the watch all but impervious to water and dirt intrusion. It’s obviously solid 18k gold, and if you like gold then this watch is the ultimate daily watch for you. Diameter is 36mm and it’s also got a solid 18k fluted bezel. The case sides are mirror polished, as is the bezel, while the tops of the lugs are brush finished.
Dial is a rare one: navy blue radially brush finished with factory diamond hour markers and, as mentioned, with full day display and date display.
Movement is a Rolex automatic caliber 3155 with 31 jewels. Movement is functioning perfectly and is a C.O.S.C. Chronometer. Both the day and date displays are settable with the crown (double quick set).
President bracelet is mint and with negligible stretch.
Watch is beautiful, in mint condition and with original Rolex box, hang tag, wallet and papers.
