Description
The 1665 Sea-Dweller with Mark 3 dial is quite rare. If ever there were a pure tool watch, it is the Sea-Dweller. Purpose built for deep/saturation divers, the early Sea-Dwellers have dials with SEA-DWELLER SUBMARINER 2000 in red. There are several versions of the dial.
Original stainless steel case measures 40mm diameter by 16.8mm thick. Crystal is domed plastic. The original TripLock crown screws down smoothly and operates perfectly. The original bezel turns with the proper amount of resistance. The case is very clean and mint. Serial number 3078XXX dates production to 1972.
Original black dial has faded to a dark grey with matching patina on the hour markers and original hands.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is clean and running.
Bracelet is Rolex folded link Oyster model 9315 with flip-lock clasp in mint condition.
