Description
The Patek Philippe Calatrava reference 570 is a perfect design. It embodies the quintessence of form following function. It is a beautiful timepiece that offers nothing more than is necessary to tell the time on a wristwatch. It’s at once subtle and sublime. The fact that it’s gold is its only extravagance.
Original case is solid 18k yellow gold with dimensions of 35mm diameter and 7.9mm thick. Crystal is acrylic. There is not much to say about the case except that its simple and elegant lines are perfect for its function. Condition is mint.
Original dial is untouched, and silvered with applied index style hour markers, subsidiary seconds dial and (as always) beautiful golden dauphine hands. The minutes chapter is engraved into the dial, then the dots are filled with gold. Adhering to the form follows function dictate, this dial offers no more or less than is necessary to tell the time.
Original movement is the manual winding Patek Philippe Caliber 12’’’400 with 18 jewels, self-compensating Breguet balance spring which is adjustable with a swan’s neck regulator, and is adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions. The movement is stamped with the Geneva Seal.
Watch is on pebbled leather strap. Condition is mint.
