Description
In the most recent Christie’s auction, a similar 2508 in 18k brought $61,950. So, we are pleased to be able to offer this all-original unpolished 2508 for considerably less.
As much as I love writing about watches, I have to say Christie’s nailed the 2508 in their description, writing “Considered by many to be among the pinnacles of Patek Philippe’s mid-20th century design, the 2508 distinguishes itself from its “time-only” brethren with a uniquely balanced case design.” Nailed it.
Original unpolished 18k case features the massive screw back, rendering this Patek’s first truly water resistant Calatrava. As an indication of how highly Patek regards its Caliber 27SC beating inside, they also chose to protect the movement with an internal dust cap that also shields the movement from magnetism. Lugs are downwardly sloping and domed crystal is acrylic. Case dimensions are 35mm diameter by 11mm thick.
Original untouched cream color dial with perfectly preserved enamel printing. In fact, the dial is in perfect condition, with applied markers, original golden dauphine hands and blued sweep center seconds hand.
Original Patek Philippe Caliber 27SC, which is among Patek’s best movements of all time, manual winding with 18 jewels and adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and in 5 positions and stamped with the Geneva Seal. Movement is pristine and running.
Watch is on new strap. Condition is mint+.
