Description
Patek Philippe introduced the first perpetual calendar wristwatch in 1925. The perpetual calendar complication is a mainstay in Patek’s complicated watch collection. This reference 5940J pays homage to Patek’s design heritage with its ultra-thin 18k cushion shaped case. The cushion case has also been a tradition at Patek, and offers an elegant alternative to the traditional round perpetual calendar offerings from the legendary Swiss firm.

Case is a mere 8.6mm thick, which is made possible by the automatic winding Caliber 240Q with its 22k micro rotor construction. This movement has been in Patek’s watches since 1977 and is a perfect machine, which Patek has made steady technical improvements to over the years. Case width is 37mm and from lug tip to lug tip the watch is 44.6mm. Sapphire front and display back crystal.

Cream color dial with Breguet numerals and feuille style hands. Calendar functions are: day, date, month, 24 hour time, leap year cycle and moonphases.

The Caliber 240Q with its automatic winding 22k micro-rotor construction also features 27 jewels, a 48 hour maximum power reserve and 275 individual parts. It’s nice to know that this movement is one of those rare things in life that is actually perfect. Stamped with the Patek Philippe seal.

Watch is complete with original factory plastic sleeve, second/solid case back, box and papers.
