Description
The reference 565 is a collector’s favorite vintage Patek Philippe wristwatch. It only takes one look to understand why. Production was in steel or 18k, with steel being the more precious metal when it comes to vintage Patek watches. This unpolished stainless steel model 565 Calatrava is everything a great watch needs to be: rare, exclusive, beautiful, desirable and comfortable.
Unpolished steel case does show some superficial surface wear, but who cares? Finding an unpolished 70 year old watch is very difficult. Case has original finish. The 565 is an early Patek screw back case, which was Patek’s successful approach to making a watch water proof. Case also has inner dust cover, providing the movement with another layer of protection. Case is two-piece construction with 35mm diameter by 10mm thick.
Original untouched silver dial with applied arabic numerals and dot hour markers, with minutes chapter at the periphery, two-tone subsidiary seconds dial and original baton hands. Dial and hands are mint+ perfect condition.
Patek Philippe manual winding Caliber 12 120 with 18 jewels, blued Breguet balance spring and swan-neck regulator. Movement is protected by the screw back and inner dust cover, and is clean and running.
Bracelet is new modern, vintage-inspired beads of rice in stainless steel.
