Description
The platinum 5711 came into being, as the story goes, during a lunch between Thierry Stern and an esteem Patek customer, who asked Mr. Stern to make the current Nautilus in platinum. What collector doesn't want to own their favorite model in the king of all metals, platinum?
Thierry replied that Patek would make the 5711P for the gentleman, but that it would not be a piece unique, but rather a very low production timepiece. At the time, the Nautilus in consideration was the unadorned blue dial version of the full size Nautilus. Patek produces fewer than ten such pieces each year.
This watch is beyond exceptional, and is extraordinarily rare. The 5711P-RUB features a baguette ruby bezel, with baguette ruby markers on the white dial, punctuated by the red seconds hand. Embossed minutes and seconds chapter and date.
Platinum full size 40mm case with the signature and iconic Nautilus bezel and integral bracelet, along with sapphire crystal.
