Description
Here is an extremely crisp and 100% original untouched vintage Rolex pre-Daytona chronograph reference 6238 from 1963. Clearly made for the USA market, because the blue tachometer scale and red telemeter scales are indexed for miles and dial is signed “ANTIMAGNETIC”. The condition of this watch is as nice as can possibly hoped for for a 52 year old wristwatch and is very close to being new old stock.
Original steel case is 36mm diameter with smooth bezel, domed plastic crystal, screw down crown and round pump chrono pushers. Screw down case back is engraved with “6238”.
Original and beautiful silver dial with black hour indices with adjacent and intact luminous dots, non-contrasting sunken silver subdials with concentric guilloche, and minutes and 5ths of a seconds chapter. The highlight of the dial, along with its perfect condition, are the blue tachometer scale and red telemeter scales. These splashes of color make the watch stand out.
Original manual winding Caliber 72B with 17 jewels and adjusted in three positions. Movement has column wheel construction and is clean and running.
Rolex riveted Oyster in mint condition. This is an outstandingly collectable and enjoyable vintage Rolex watch in mint+ original condition.
