Description
Here is, in my opinion, the most classic and most versatile watch ever: the Rolex Datejust. Being a Datejust, the watch has a date (which is more convenient than you imagine, until you wear a watch without a date). This vintage watch is decidedly classy in 18k gold and, like your author, dates to 1964.
Original 18k case is 36mm diameter. Fluted 18k original bezel is very crisp and mint. Plastic crystal. Screw down crown operating flawlessly.
Original champagne pie-pan dial has early style applied 18k hour markers and original golden Alpha style hands.
Rolex automatic winding Caliber 1560 which is a 26 jewel C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer, adjusted in 5 positions and to temperature. Movement is pristine and running.
New modern brown alligator Patek Philippe strap with Rolex buckle.
