Description
This is a very rare watch. Cartier signed dial, case and movement. Case is 35mm 18k with screw back. Patek Philippe used a screw back case to protect their important automatic watches in the 1960s, and this watch is very Patek-esque, except more rare because there are millions of Patek Calatravas and fewer than a couple hundred Cartier Calatravas. Take a look around, you will not find another.
Case has an overall tonneau shape although it appears and wear as a round case. Nice wide bezel, domed acrylic crystal and aforementioned Cartier signed 18k screw back with personalized engraving next to the model and serial numbers – all of which are undiminished by polishing.
Original untouched “Cartier Automatic” signed silver dial with cross hair pattern, original golden dauphine hands, subsidiary seconds dial with its own mini-cross hair lines, and very cool black date wheel with white date numbers.
Original bumper automatic movement with Cartier signed winding rotor and with 17 jewels. Movement is clean and running.
Vintage strap with original 18k vintage tang buckle.
