Description
Here is an extremely special vintage Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona reference 6265 from early in the model’s production with Mark 2 Paul Newman two-color “Panda” dial, and case with Mark 1 chronograph pushers. Serial number 3.0M dates production to 1971. This is an immaculate, untouched survivor and is an epically collectable classic.
Original mint condition stainless steel case has Mark 1 screw-down chronograph pushers and original screw-down crown. Original bezel with Units per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Plastic crystal. Dimensions are 37mm diameter by 13.5mm thick.
Original untouched Tropical Mark 2 Paul Newman “Panda” two-color black and white dial in mint condition. The dial has a crisp step. Contrasting black subdials, which are changing color to brown, are sunken and with concentric guilloche.
Original Rolex manual winding Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel chronograph construction. Movement is clean and running and chronograph functions reset to zero.
Mint, original, warm, untouched condition on leather cuff strap. This is one for the history books!
