Description
Here is one of the rarest vintage Patek Philippe models: the reference 1527 Calatrava, which was only made from 1942 through 1950 in very limited production. It is one of those “go find another” watches. This 1527 is in mint+ original condition in 18k rose gold. Watch is factory sealed since a recent Patek service.
Patek marketing at the time called the 1527 “The Tonneau”. It is probably easier to see this in person than in the pics, but the elongated and tapered lugs and case shape combine for the overall effect of a tonneau shape. Original case in 18k rose gold measures 34mm diameter by 41.7mm long by 8.7mm thin. Case is two-part construction with domed acrylic crystal and snap back.
Original two-tone silver Gubelin-signed dial with applied golden roman numerals and dot indicies, original hands including blued center seconds hand.
Original freshly serviced Patek Philippe Caliber 12’’’ 120 manual winding with 18 jewels, adjusted in 5 positions and to heat, cold and isochronism. Balance has a swan’s neck regulator.
Original 18k Patek buckle on non-Patek leather strap.
