Description
This watch’s beauty is possibly only eclipsed by its rarity. The 18028 is the smooth bezel transitional Day Date that introduced the sapphire crystal and quickset date. The model 18038 with fluted bezel is rare enough; the 18028 is one of those GO FIND ANOTHER ONE watches. To add to this watch’s beauty is the rare and original brown vignette dial.
Never polished 18k gold case is 36mm in diameter by 12.3mm thick. Crystal is sapphire. The smooth bezel is original and designated by the ‘2’ in 18028. Both the model number 18028 and serial number 5307XXX are clearly legible between the lugs. Screw down crown operating perfectly.
Original brown vignette dial with diamond hour markers. Full day on display along with the date. Original hands.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3055 with 27 jewels and adjusted to five positions and to temperature. Movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer and is clean running condition.
New brown leather strap with Rolex buckle.
