Description
Rolex produced the model 16750 GMT Master from 1979 through 1988. This watch is from the later 16750 production which is evidenced by the luminous plots on the dial (which have outstanding patina, by the way) having white gold rings surrounding them and also the word “DATE” proceeding OYSTER PERPETUAL. This mint condition and entirely original vintage Rolex GMT Master is complete with original Rolex box and papers including not only the original papers but also later Rolex Service papers.
Never polished original stainless steel case measures 40mm diameter by 13mm thick. This is a transitional model in that it has many of the same features as the later model 16710 (produced in the millions of watches) but has a decidedly vintage looking original plastic crystal like its proud predecessors. Bezel is original with sharp serrations and has the most desirable “Pepsi” blue and red insert. Lugs are uncompromised and the original screw down crown works perfectly. ‘R’ Serial number dates production to 1987.
Original untouched black dial with pleasing patina on the luminous hour markers, correct for the period OYSTER PERPETUAL DATE text and date at 3 o’clock.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3075 with 27 jewels, adjusted to temperature and in five positions and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is pristine and running.
Bracelet is Rolex Oyster model 78360 with heavy links in mint condition.
Watch is in mint condition and will be delivered with original Rolex box, hang tag with serial number, original Rolex Certificate, Rolex Service document and GMT booklet.
