Description
Immaculate. That is the best word to describe the condition of this watch. Keep in mind, that only real divers were buying Submariners in 1969. These are tool watches. This watch was Rolex serviced in 2004 and evidently not worn or used since. Polished once, by Rolex at its service, this watch is as close to new condition as a 46 year old dive watch can be.
Original stainless steel case is mint+. Original bezel still has sharp edges and turns with the correct amount of tension. Original bezel insert has faded to a mellow gray, which is really tremendously good looking. Plastic “Top Hat” crystal. Original Triplock crown operates perfectly. Serial number 2879XXX dates production to 1969.
Original untouched mint condition Mark 4 dial with tritium hour markers and hands. Of course, the highlight of the dial is the red “SUBMARINER” which is printed first in white and then painted again in red. Date at 3 o’clock.
Original movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels and adjusted to 5 positions and temperature. This is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is immaculate and running great.
Bracelet is heavy link Rolex Oyster with flip lock clasp in perfect condition.
This mint+ condition Red Sub will be delivered with Rolex service box and Rolex service papers.
