Description
Here is an extremely special vintage Rolex Oyster Cosmograph Daytona reference 6263 from early in the model’s production with Mark 1 Paul Newman dial, and case with Mark 1 chronograph pushers. Serial number 2623XXX dates production to 1970.
Original stainless steel case has Mark 1 screw-down chronograph pushers and original screw-down crown. Original bezel with sharp edges and black Units per Hour scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’. Plastic crystal in perfect condition. Case is very clean and mint. Dimensions are 38mm diameter by 13.5mm thick.
Original untouched Mark 1 Paul Newman “Panda” two-color white dial in mint+ condition. Note the font used and that it has no serifs. The dial has a crisp step onto the contrasting black ring surrounding the dial with the luminous dots (all intact) and white minutes and seconds chapter. Contrasting black subdials are sunken and with concentric guilloche. Original hands also in perfect condition.
Original Rolex manual winding Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel chronograph construction. Movement is clean and running and chronograph functions reset to zero.
Rolex heavy link Oyster bracelet.
Watch is in mint condition and is exceedingly rare and desirable.
