Description
These vintage Rolex watches with color change dials are, ultimately, pieces unique. Once a dial’s color starts to change, the change can terminate with a subtle lightening or darkening of the original color… or, as with this watch, the change can be profound. This untouched original dial is now a dark caramel color, which plays off against the golden hour markers, hands and 18k case in a sublime way.
This model 1803 Day Date “President” is the quintessential gold watch. It’s both an horological and historical icon. US Presidents have worn it, along with countless successful people from all realms. Rolex considers the Day Date to be their top-of-the-line watch and with good reason.
Case is 18k with dimensions of 36mm by 12.5mm thick. Classic fluted bezel, plastic crystal and screw down crown all make up the impermeable Oyster case. Serial number 2566XXX dates production to 1969.
Original untouched *UNDERLINE* color change pie pan dial is caramel in color with golden door stop markers. Simply gorgeous and extremely rare!
