Description
Here is a sensational and genuinely rare all-original Rolex Cosmograph Daytona with white 2-color “Panda” Paul Newman dial. The reference 6262 is quite rare, and served as a transitional model, produced only in 1970 and is the predecessor to the references 6263 and 6265 with screw-down chronograph pushers. Serial number 2533XXX dates production of this watch to 1970.
The model 6262 has the last of the two-color Paul Newman dials that retained “DAYTONA” in red text, since the later screw-down chronograph pusher models 6263 and 6265 with two-color “panda” Paul Newman dials omitted the word DAYTONA. Original untouched and correct white two-color or Paul Newman step dial with straight “SWISS”, contrasting black subdials and red "Daytona". Dial is in mint+ PERFECT untouched condition.
Original mint condition case is stainless steel with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 14mm thick. Round pump style chronograph pushers. Screw down crown. Plastic crystal. Steel bezel with sharp edge and tachymeter scale. Case is clean and crown and pushers operate normally.
Original movement is the Rolex manual winding chronograph Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and column wheel chronograph construction. Movement is pristine, operating and resetting normally.
Rolex riveted Oyster USA made bracelet with 2-69 date code.
