Description
An 18k gold vintage Rolex Cosmograph is a beautiful thing to own. If your experience resembles mine, it will make you happy every day that you put in on your wrist. There’s a majesty about gold watches that their steel brethren lack. Also, vintage 18k Rolex Daytona watches are RARE. As the years go by, there are practically none appearing on the market and for good reason.
The best thing about gold watches is the patina they develop after decades. This watch almost appears to be rose gold, which with the black dial, is spectacularly nice looking.
Original case is solid 18k gold with dimensions of 37mm diameter by 13.9mm thick. Engraved “Units per Hour” bezel with scale from ‘50’ to ‘200’ has its original sharp edge. Screw down crown and round pump style chronograph pushers are all working perfectly. Chronograph hands reset crisply and accurately to zero. Crystal is domed plastic. Case is in mint+ original condition and has fat, uniform lugs. Serial number 7426XXX dates production to 1982.
Original untouched black dial with applied golden hour markers and contrasting gold color subdials. The hands are all original. Dial is in mint condition.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 727 with 17 jewels and adjusted to 3 positions. Caliber features column wheel construction and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Movement is winding smoothly and running well. Movement is in pristine condition.
Bracelet is original 18k Rolex Oyster in mint condition.
