The Rolex Submariner reference 1680 in 18k gold with 18k Rolex Oyster bracelet with the "nipple" dial is my favorite Rolex Sub of them all. This watch is just awesome. If you like gold, this trumps even a Rolex Day Date.
Solid 18k gold case with thick, uniform lugs, original bezel and insert, 40mm in diameter and 14.5mm thick. Sapphire crystal and screw down crown. Serial number 5860XXX dates production to 1979.
Original Purple nipple dial is awesome! Rolex used many hues of blue on these 1680 "nipple" dial Submariners. This dial is purple and just outstanding. The hour markers give the dial excellent depth. The interplay of the purple and gold is gorgeous. Buy this dead mint 18k 1680 or wish that you had...!
Movement is the Rolex automatic winding Caliber 1570, one of the most accurate automatic movements ever built by any manufacture. Maintained properly, many caliber 1570s keep time to within 1 or 2 seconds per day after 20+ years. This movement is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
The bracelet is a heavy link 18k Rolex Oyster with flip-lock clasp.
