Description
Here is a very rare Datejust, reference 1611, with original Florentine decorated bezel and Jubilee bracelet in mint+ unpolished condition. Produced circa 1971 and next to impossible to find, particularly with this never seen blue textured dial, the so-called Brick in the Wall dial.
Original 18k case with Florentine bezel. Crystal is plastic. Screw down crown. Case is in mint+ unpolished condition. Dimensions are 35mm diameter by 11mm thick.
Original blue Bricks in the Wall textured dial with applied hour markers, original hands and date window at 3 o’clock. The color combination of the gold and the blue is gorgeous.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels and adjusted to five positions and temperature. This is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. Rolex used the Caliber 1570 in the Datejust and Submariners of that period and after a long time of collecting and dealing in vintage Rolex watches, I can say with confidence that the 1570 is the best serially produced automatic caliber ever. They run for decades and still keep chronometer time even after getting beaten up. You can’t ask for more from a movement than that.
