Description
When you think about it… 1961 was a really long time ago. If you were born around then, like I was, it’s better to not think about it too much. But, when it comes to collectables, it just seems like so many high-end products from 1960-1962 have gone on to be among the most classic.
As a matter of fact, most of the gold Rolex model 1002 watches were made in 14k gold. However, this is the rare and original 18k gold case, with plastic crystal and screw-down crown and 34mm diameter. Significantly, this watch has a smooth bezel, which is not only original but a nice alternative to the fluted bezel.
Original Tiffany & Co. co-signed original silver dial with applied hour markers and golden baton hands.
Original automatic winding, C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer Rolex Caliber 1560 with 25 jewels and adjusted to temperature and in 5 positions. Movement is clean and is running and the inside case back indicates a service history.
