Description
The Rolex reference 1501 Oyster Perpetual Date with its engine-turned bezel has always been one of the most attractive dress models. This particular watch is an early version of this venerable model, with pre-1M serial number as well as its insanely nice and original black gilt gloss dial.
Original stainless steel case measures 35mm diameter by 12mm thick. Plastic crystal and original screw-down crown which is operating perfectly. Case is in near mint condition. Inside case back has date code of ‘II.63’.
Original untouched mint rare black gilt gloss dial with applied hour markers, original luminous dots adjacent, and original dauphine hands and date at 3 o’clock.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1560 with 26 jewels and adjusted in 5 positions and to temperature. This movement is clean and running and is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer.
Original Rolex riveted Oyster bracelet with folding deployment clasp.
This is an unusually compelling vintage Oyster Perpetual, think of it as Rolex Noir.
