Description
Here is a so-called pre-Daytona Rolex chronograph, the model 6238, from late in the production, in remarkably mint condition and accompanied by original Rolex box and Guarantee certificate (“papers”).
Original stainless steel case with smooth bezel, round pump style chronograph pushers and original screw-down crown, domed plastic crystal and case with thick, uniform lugs.
Case condition is mint+. Size is 36mm diameter by 12.8mm thick. Serial number 1206XXX dates production to 1965. The papers show the watch was sold on “27-12-66” by the authorized retailer.
Original untouched silver dial with applied hour markers with intact original luminous dots, three sunken subdials with concentric guilloche, and tachometer scale around the dial’s periphery. Dial is in mint+ condition.
Original Rolex Caliber 72B in immaculate condition and running. Column wheel construction.
Original Rolex Oyster bracelet.
