ROLEX 1019 MILGAUSS ANTI MAGNETIC STEEL

Here is the rare and collectable reference 1019 Rolex Milgauss, which is the second Milgauss model, which was made in the 1960s and 1970s in small quantity. Designed for scientists, researchers and pilots, the Milgauss is highly anti magnetic. In my opinion, it is the best looking model Milgauss of them all and the most comfortable to wear. Crisp unpolished stainless steel case with dimensions of 38mm diameter by 13.5mm thick. Case features original smooth bezel, plastic crystal and original screw down crown. Rolex, being a true provider of tools, gave scientists and researchers what they need with this case construction, which provides protection from fields of up to one thousand gauss (a measurement of magnetism). Ordinary watches’ timekeeping begins to be affected by magnetism at around 40 gauss. Also, the 1000 gauss is how the Milgauss got its name, as 1000 is “mil” and “gauss” is gauss. Case is in mint+ condition. Serial number 1636XXX dates production to 1967. Original untouched black dial is in perfect condition. Applied hour markers. Hands are original with inlaid luminous. The original seconds hand has a red arrow at the end. The hands provide excellent legibility. The red ‘MILGAUSS’ is a great design touch that adds a lot of pizzazz to the look of this watch. Original Rolex automatic caliber 1580 with 26 jewels beating inside. It's a slower beating movement, which you can see by the action of the seconds hand.
