Description
You just don’t expect to find a vintage Rolex chronograph from 1935 in this kind of condition. The watch is so crisp and clean it looks like one of those vintage reissue models that brands like Omega and Tag Heuer put out. However, this watch is entirely authentic mid-1930’s Rolex (apart from the modern unworn Patek Philippe strap and steel Rolex buckle).
Steel “Staybrite” case with 3 part construction, which really lives up to its name. The steel looks new. Massive proportions at 37mm diameter by 12mm thick. Oval shaped chronograph pushers, domed plastic crystal, and ‘2508’ model number and ‘0345XX’ serial number engraved on the exterior of the case back, undiminished by polishing.
Gorgeous silver dial with rose gold applied markers and original hands, with tachometer and blue telemetre scales. There is also an inner minutes and 1/5ths of a second scale. Two sunken subdials, one for constant seconds and chronograph 30 minute totalizer.
Interestingly, the inside case back is singed Rolex “25 WORLD RECORDS”. Manual winding chronograph caliber with 17 jewels and column wheel construction signed Rolex. Movement is immaculate and running and inside case back shows a service history.
This watch is a wearable treasure in mint+ condition.
