All vintage Rolex Cosmograph Daytona watches are rare. The 6239 is the first Daytona and was made from 1963 until 1969. The vast majority of 6239 production was in stainless steel. An 18k gold 6239 is a true rarity. This late production 6239 in 18k is not only in mint+ unpolished condition, it also has a Paul Newman dial. This is as good as it gets for watch collectors!
Original never polished 18k gold case with original bezel with sharp edge, plastic crystal, round pump style chronograph pushers, original 18k screw down crown operating perfectly, and in mint+ condition. Dimensions are 37mm diameter by 12.5mm thick.
Original untouched champagne Paul Newman dial with contrasting black subdials and crisp step at the dial’s edge.
Original manual winding Rolex caliber with 17 jewels and adjusted in 3 positions. Movement is clean and running and features column wheel chronograph construction.
Rolex 18k riveted Oyster bracelet in clean mint condition like the watch.
