There are watches and then there are WATCHES. This definitely fits into the latter category. This watch is new and complete with box and papers. Only 20 Edward Piguet Minute Repeater Carillon Power Reserve watches were made in platinum.
Visually subtle, but packing a serious horological punch, this Minute Repeater features a Carillon style repeating tone, meaning descending/cascading tones for the quarter hours. The indicator adjacent to 10 o’clock shows which tone is playing while the repeater sounds: Hours, ¼ hours, or minutes. The two-tone silver dial also features power reserve, which is very useful on a minute repeater, along with guilloche, subsidiary seconds and exploding arabic numerals.
Case is platinum, rectangular in shape, with dimensions of 45mm long by 28mm wide by 11.2mm thick. Case shape is flat on back surface and arched, with sapphire crystal front and display back. The display back is engraved “Edward Piguet” and “Edition Limitee 20 pcs”. Top surfaces are mirror finished while the sides are brush finished. Fit and finish are outstanding, as should be expected on such an elite timepiece.
Audemars Piguet Caliber 2877 with 33 jewels and adjusted to heat, cold and five positions. The repeater hammer can be observed working through the display back crystal.
Strap is black hand-sewn AP crocodile with platinum deployment clasp.
US Retail price of this watch is $340,000. Watch is new with box and papers.
