This Patek Philippe 3448/4 automatic perpetual calendar wristwatch in 18k on 18k original bracelet is a true rarity. Fewer than 600 reference 3448s were ever made, no more than a couple were “born” on a bracelet like this watch was. Make no mistake, the bracelet adds significant “wrist presence” to an already highly coveted and beautiful classic Patek Philippe.
Case is pristine and features wide mirror finished bezel, brush finished mid-body and snap back with both finishes. Case is 37mm diameter by 12mm thick and with a wearable length of up to 7.75 inches (19.6 cm). While the condition of this watch is magnificent, the fact that this watch has both lugs and original bracelet is easily the high point of the watch aesthetically. Clasp is stamped ‘JPE’ which is a hallmark for Jean-Pierre Ecoffey, the bracelet maker. The presence of the bracelet is noted on the Extract from the Archive for this watch, as is its retail sale on October 16, 1972.
Original untouched silvered dial in perfect condition, with apertures for day and month, joined by subdial for moonphase and date (with over-sized date numbers). Golden hour markers, glorious golden dauphine hands and embossed golden minutes chapter.
Automatic winding and freshly Patek serviced Caliber 27-460 Q movement with 37 jewels, 18k winding rotor with Patek logo and stamped with the Geneva Seal. Movement is in perfect condition.
This watch is a treasure not to mention highly desirable, collectable and important.
