Description
Vintage Rolex collectors know that the reference 6241 Daytona is a rare watch. Rarer still is a 6241 with Paul Newman dial, also known as the “Exotic” dial (which is what Rolex named it, when it was a seldom ordered option on the Daytonas of that period). This Paul Newman dial has three colors (black, white and red) and is in perfect condition and, of course, guaranteed authentic and original.
Original case is stainless steel with dimensions of 38mm diameter by 13.4mm thick. Crystal is plastic. Pump style chronograph pushers and screw down crown are all original and working correctly. Original bezel with sharp edges and insert with ‘50’ to ‘200’ Units per Hour scale. Serial number is 1533XXX and dates production to 1966. Inside case back is engraved with ‘6241’.
Original three color white Paul Newman dial with contrasting black sub dials and outer black and red minutes scale. Original hands and luminous plots intact on dial.
Original movement is the manual winding Rolex Caliber 722 with seventeen jewels and adjusted to three positions. Movement features column wheel construction and is clean and running.
Watch is on new custom leather strap with steel Rolex buckle.
