Description
The Submariner is probably the most recognizable watch in the world. That’s a compliment that is well earned and well deserved. Rolex introduced the Submariner in 1954. They have improved it over time, to the point that it is now the perfect product. Obviously, in 18k white gold, it is an indulgence. Ever since Rolex started making a gold Submariner with blue dial, Rolex lovers clamored for a steel Submariner with blue bezel and dial. Rolex chose to finally produce the yearned for color scheme, but in an all white gold version. This watch is beautiful.
Case is massive. Officially, it is 40mm diameter but it wears much larger. The lugs are thick, the ceramic bezel is blue as is the dial, sapphire crystal and screw down crown surrounded and protected by massive shoulders. Water resistant to 300 meters, which is conservative. Oyster bracelet in 18k white gold with flip-lock clasp. The Oyster bracelet is fundamental to a Submariner and not only fulfills its purpose with perfection, it also looks great doing it.
Blue dial with oversized luminous hands and hour markers. Date at 3 o’clock. Simple, legible and with the arrow at 12 o’clock, it keeps its wearer oriented to the time perfectly even in murky conditions.
