Description
This is the nicest Omega chronograph I have ever seen. Rare and super collectable 37.5mm steel case reference CK 987 from circa 1940. If this watch had an ordinary dial it would be a desirable watch. With this specatular original untouched salmon dial with Tachymetre and Telemetre scales, this watch is over the top, insanely nice!
Potentially unpolished stainless steel case with original finish is 37.5mm in diameter with oval chronograph pushers and original knurled crown. Snap on case back and domed acrylic crystal. Case finish alternates between brush and mirror finishes. Case number is 99784XX and movement number 93879XX date this watch to circa 1940.
Words fail to describe this dial. Original and untouched with MOJO that is out of this world. Salmon color with patina. Original black hands. The Tachymetre scale is blue and the Telemtre scale is red. Note the words “TACHYMETRE”, “TELEMETRE” and “BASE 100” are framed in white boxes. Arabic numerals. Two sunken subdials with concentric guilloche, one for constant seconds and 3 o’clock subdial for chronograph 30 minute totalizer.
Movement is the highly cherished Omega Caliber 33.3 CHRO with 17 jewels and column wheel construction. Movement is clean and running. This is the most sought after vintage chronograph movement in the entire range of Omega chronographs.
Bracelet is generic steel mesh, which flatters the watch very nicely.
This is one of those watches that can turn a really bad day into a really good day, just by wearing it.
