Description
Chopard watches have a long connection with car racing, starting with their legendary “Mille Miglia” chronograph. This Grand Prix de Monaco Historique is a 2012 limited edition watch of 500 only, combining 18k rose gold and titanium case along with sporty gray dial with blue elements and racing stripes. Dial is signed “CHOPARD MONACO HISTORIQUE CHRONOMETER”.
Case is very finely crafted with superb “fit and finish”. The rose gold bezel, crown and chronograph pushers are all mirror finished while the titanium case body is matte finished. Case back bezel is mirror finished titanium. Every good racing chronograph needs a tachometer scale and this watch features one on the titanium bezel. Case diameter is a perfect 42.4mm by 14.67mm thick. Sapphire front and display back crystals.
Gray dial is very well done, with applied rose gold hour markers with inlaid luminous and rose gold hands with inlaid luminous. Blue dial and bezel highlights along with matching blue chronograph seconds and running seconds hands. The aforementioned racing stripes are a great touch and the date is displayed at 3 o’clock..
Automatic winding chronograph movement has 25 jewels, engraved rotor, 48 hour power reserve and beats at 28,800 beats per hour. Display back crystal has crest on it.
Strap is lined leather with exposed blue stitching and holes reminiscent of the legendary Heuer racing chronographs from the 1960s and 70s. Titanium Chopard buckle.
This is a rare watch and is very economical given its quality and limited edition production. Watch is in 99% new condition with Chopard box and papers.
