Description
This amazing watch was only recently cut out of the original factory plastic and is in new condition, complete with original Patek box, papers and second solid case back.
The Patek Philippe reference 3990 is rare and highly collectable. Patek produced only a few reference 3990 watches and this yellow gold version is very rare. The 3990 is a reference 3970 with diamond bezel. In fact, the 3990 is the first perpetual calendar chronograph watch, a Patek original pairing of complications, to feature a diamond bezel.
Case is 18k gold with Patek factory baguette diamond bezel with 40 Top Wesselton stones with approximately total diamond weight of 2.8 carats. Case is 36mm diameter by 13mm thick. Sapphire front and display back crystals. As one could expect on a virtually new watch, the stepped lugs are in perfect condition as is the rest of the case.
Dial is silver with applied diamond markers. Day and month are displayed in the apertures beneath 12 o’clock. 3 o’clock subdial displays chronograph 30 minute totalizer and leap-year cycle. 6 o’clock displays date and moonphase while 9 o’clock subdial displays running seconds and 24 hour time.
Beating inside is the outstanding Patek Philippe Caliber CH 27 70 Q with the Geneva Seal proudly stamped on its bridge. Technical details: 24 jewels, 353 individual parts; 60 hour maximum power reserve, Gyromax balance beating at 18,000 beats per hour.
Strap is a special order Patek Philippe rustic tan leather with 18k Patek deployment clasp.
