Description
The Rolex Day Date is Rolex’s top of the line model. This model 118208 is truly rare with domed bezel and Oyster bracelet. This watch is extraordinary for pairing the smooth bezel with this terrific and insanely nice looking Carousel of Green Jade diamond dial. Normally, this dial is paired with a diamond bezel, so perhaps this watch is a customer order from Rolex. The domed bezel tones the watch down, while the Jade dial amps the watch up. This watch is drool worthy for sure and is brand new with 2017 dated Rolex warranty card.
Case is 18k gold with dimensions of 36mm diameter by 12.8mm thick. Crystal is sapphire. Crown screws down and the watch is water resistant to 100 meters. As beautiful as this watch is, it is also built to be absolutely bullet proof. In the words of a Rolex spokesperson many years ago, your Rolex can take anything your arm can take.
This Carousel of Green Jade dial is rare. There is a diamond lattice around the dial, with the “spokes” doing the work of hour markers. Being a piece of real Jade, every jade dial is different. Rolex hasn’t made many of these dials. Full day display in the window at the top of the dial and date display at 3 o’clock. In fact, these dials command a price premium of around $15,000 at Rolex retail.
Movement is the automatic winding Rolex Caliber 3155 with 31 jewels, microstella regulating screws, Breguet balance spring with free sprung Glucydur balance. This caliber is a C.O.S.C. Certified Chronometer. The day and date displays are quick-set, meaning each display can be easily set by rotating the crown.
Bracelet is 18k Rolex President with invisible clasp.
