Description
Here is a piece unique Rolex Day Date President no doubt made to special order for a special customer. Bearing the model number 18169, this watch has a ferrite dial with golden roman numerals, a baguette diamond bezel, and is in the Tridor configuration which uses 18k white/grey gold, yellow gold and rose gold. New with box and papers.
Case is 18k white gold with Rolex special order mirror finished lug tops and the spectacular baguette diamond bezel. Sapphire crystal. 36mm diameter. Serial number 9865XXX dates production to 1987, yet this watch is in new condition with perfectly crisp case back sticker revealing its unique model number.
Ferrite dials are very rare. Rolex uses actual chunks of minerals, and cuts a rough dial from it, which is refined over almost innumerable steps. Bottom line: every mineral dial is different from all others, since the material has different organic striation patterns and textures. Being a Day Date, the full day is on display along with the date.
Movement is Rolex automatic caliber 3155 with 31 jewels. Movement is functioning perfectly and is a C.O.S.C. Chronometer. Both the day and date displays are settable with the crown (double quick set).
