Description
The Reine de Naples model has been a smashing success for Breguet. Even most of the upper echelon of Swiss watchmakers don’t take their ladies’ watches very seriously, often choosing quartz movements and fairly derivative styles (smaller size versions of men’s models). Not so Breguet.
This watch features an immediately interesting and distinctive case shape, in 18k white gold, with diamond bezel with 128 diamonds. Size is 36.5mm long by 28.5mm wide by 10.2mm thick. Case sides are fluted, which is a classical Breguet design element. Crown has sapphire cabochon. Sapphire front and display back crystals.
Dial is mother of pearl, with complications: time in the off-center dial with extensive guilloche and blued Breguet hands, with subsidiary seconds dial embedded into the time keeping dial. At the top of the dial is a moonphase display with a power reserve indicator over it. What is a first, is the inner flange also has diamonds inset throughout it, to wonderful effect.
Happily, Breguet chose their automatic winding Caliber 537DRL1 movement for this watch, with 40 hour power reserve, 23 jewels and a 22k winding rotor. The movement is adjusted in 5 positions.
This watch is absolutely tops when it comes to womens’ watches, and is in mint condition with Breguet box and papers.
