Description
This is one rare Royal Oak, with a total production of only 40 watches, all being retailed exclusively in Belgium. This watch is stainless steel and rose gold, and was made in 2007 to commemorate that year’s edition of The Grand Classic Tour. This tour is a classic car race, established in the year 2000, which selects a scenic route through a European country or countries. The 2007 race began in Brussels and ended in Monaco.
The dial is very light silver with rose gold elements and luminous hour markers and hands. The 12 hour chronograph totalizer subdial features The National Classic Tour’s logo, as does the case back. Date between 4 o’clock and 5 o’clock and the familiar Tapisserie dial engraving.
The Royal Oak always has been and always will be all about its case. Instantly recognizable and iconic. The fit and finish is the best in the watch business. All case edges are beveled and the case finish alternates between brush and mirror finished surfaces. This case is particularly interesting because it combines a steel mid-case-body with 18k rose gold elements like the octagonal bezel, the screw down crown and chrono-pushers. Sapphire crystal and special limited edition case back. 40mm size not including the crown shoulders.
Movement is the AP Caliber 2385 with solid gold winding rotor, 37 jewels, 40 hour power reserve and beating at 21,600 beats per hour. This is a work-horse movement for AP and has proven itself for decades as a reliable and rugged timekeeper.
Watch is on rubber strap with AP deployment clasp.
