Here is a clean and very nice vintage Mark 1 Rolex 5512 Submariner from 1961. Has anyone else noticed that 1961-1962 was a generational high point of design across all kinds of products, from watches to cars to furniture?
Original very clean stainless steel case with thick lugs and bevels. Pointed Crown Guards. Domed plastic crystal. Faded bezel insert. Screw down crown operating perfectly. Serial number 764XXX dates production to 1961. Inside case back has ‘5512’ and II.61 date code.
Original Gilt, Gloss, Chapter Ring, meters-first black dial. Dial is in mint condition as are the hands.
Original automatic winding Rolex Caliber 1520 with 26 jewels, clean and running. When you look at a 50+ year old dive watch like this, and see how clean and perfect the dial and movement are, after so many years, you appreciate how well the Oyster case does its job.
Rolex riveted Oyster bracelet also in clean mint+ condition.
