Here is the nicest gold 1680 we have EVER offered. I could just end my description here, because what more can be said? Just look at this watch. It has EVERYTHING going for it. Tropical Color Change dial to Tobacco Brown from the original black. The color is uniform and extremely pleasing. Original bezel insert has faded to a light purple-gray. Case is still robust. Inside the clasp is the diver’s extension which is engraved “Patent Pending”. The watch even has original double-set of Rolex punched warranty papers for crying out loud. 40mm 18k case with original bi-directional bezel and original screw down crown. Bracelet has original first-generation flip-lock clasp and Patent Pending diver’s extension. Plastic crystal. The case back has hallmarks on the external surface, another oddity that adds to this watch’s inescapable charm. Serial number 2817XXX dates watch to 1970. Original untouched RIDICULOUSLY nice brown dial, turned from the original black. The golden hour markers and original hands over the brown dial are just sublime. Date at 3 o’clock. Rolex automatic winding C.O.S.C. Chronometer certified Caliber 1570 with 26 jewels adjusted to temperature and in 5 positions. Movement is pristine and running and inside case back shows a service history. Watch is mint with double-set of punched warranty papers and Rolex box. This watch is an 11 on a scale of one to ten!
